Reading Response #1

Book: Cold Hard Truth on Men, Money, and Woman
Author: Kevin O'Leary

Page Read: 1 - 21

To become wealthy it doesn't mean you have to be wealthy to begin with. Kevin O'Leary explains that you don't need to be wealthy to become wealthy but using your money properly like Kevin's mother, is the "secret" to getting rich. I 100% agree with Kevin because he states that if you come from a rich family with a business or seniority within companies, it is much more likely their offspring's will succeed. But that doesn't mean the poor aren't allowed to get rich either. Kevin started from the bottom and worked his way to the top. That gives me motivation and confidence that one day I may be able to do the same. My family isn't poor nor are we rich but even with the extra cash my parents have saved up for me can go along way. Kevin stresses about investing, investing and investing because according to him that is the secret to becoming rich. Obviously investing can result in whole lot of good but also a whole lot of bad. In my mind it is just a more a classier way of gambling. Instead of spending $50-$90 at the casino, your spending thousands on something that won't pay you back for many years, and sometimes it will never pay you back. This is why I  believe life is full of risks and if you want to live life by the edge or just play it cool. The choice is yours but my mindset is defiantly to live by the edge and hopefully bad luck won't haunt me in my near future.

DAILY TUNE DISCOVERY #1

This is a song that I "loved" on Hype Machine a few months back and is still currently a tune I like to listen too. I believe this is under a indie pop/alternative genre. Top 40 radio songs aren't the only good trending songs.

Daily Create Feb 6th

A week ago I decided to pull everything out of my pockets and do a brief write up about what I had in my pockets.

In my pockets I found...
-Samsung Galaxy S3 Smart Phone
- Mazda car keys
- Co-op membership card
- House key
- 2 unknown keys
- Carmex Lip Balm
- Tommy Hilfiger leather wallet
- A receipt to superstore
- A receipt to chatters hair salon
- Pan am clinic waiting slip

Things I do not leave the home without:

Samsung Galaxy S3 Smart phone: Who doesn't leave the home without a cell phone? unless you don't have one then I feel a little sorry for you.

Key Chain: How would I lock the door behind me? How would I start my car so I can leave? and How would I build up equity from co-op if I don't have my membership card when I decide to go fill up with gas?

Carmex: I have a lip balm addiction to carmex. Its like a smoker who needs to smoke every few hours, but for me I don't need to step outside in the cold to do so.

Tommy Hilfiger Wallet: It holds cash, licenses, and many cards. You need your drivers license to drive or else its against the law! Everyone needs a little cash on them and who knows when your going to see a movie so the scene card is quite handy to earn some points!

Digital Front Print Sketch

We decided to do a sketch in class then past few days about what my digital footprint consisted of. I mainly use 4 social media websites. Twitter, Hype Machine, Instagram and occasionally Facebook. The one you may not recognize is "hype machine" It is a social media website for music where you click a "love" button if you like the song. Trying to explain the site as best as I can, it's like a mother blog, within many popular music blogs. This means it is usually brand new music, and sometimes a free legal way of getting music. It's based around twitter, so if you follow someone on twitter and that person has a hype machine account, you automatically start following them and you can see which "songs" they loved recently.

About me

My full name is Zachary Phung, yes I do not have a middle name, no I do not know why. I am a grade 12 student from Sturgeon Heights Collegiate and this is my senior year. I have many hobbies that usually keeps me busy as I do not like lounging at home. I am a setter for my high school volleyball team, I like to play recreational basketball with my friends and I really enjoy snowboarding once a week. During the summer months, I try to take advantage by being out doors all day. Biking, beaches, working, yard work and just hanging out with my good buds are my activities. Through this blog I would like to express the love I have for music. Since I do use my smart phone quite a bit, in connection I will try to share with "blogger" as much as I can so that this "school work" can become a daily routine where I wouldn't notice that I'm actually participating in class.
